A Southend MP and her family gave up time on Christmas Day to help support and feed vulnerable and less fortunate people in the city.
Anna Firth, Tory MP, for Southend West, and her loved ones helped out at St Vincent’s Centre in Short Street in Southend to hand out donations and Christmas dinners to the people helped by the charity.
She said: “It was such a joyous experience helping the amazing team at St Vincents in Southend serve Christmas lunch to the homeless and vulnerable in Southend.
“Huge thanks to Denise Rossiter, chief executive, of Essex Chamber Commerce, for donating and organising such wonderful Christmas presents Julie Cushion too. Thank to my whole family for joining me. I looking forward to next year.”
Daniel Cauchi, centre manager, said: “It was so amazing to bring so many people together to share their love for others struggling in our community.
“Thanks to Anna Firth and her family for supporting people struggling in our community. Also, Dennis Rossiter for helping to bring this love together. A big thanks to the Staff and volunteers of St Vincent's Centre who made this happen.
