Southend West MP Anna Firth met with Minister Jo Churchill to discuss environmental protections and animal rights.
Jo Churchill is a minister in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and is responsible for environmental management and regulation and animal rights legislation.
Anna has become a champion for animals and the environment since she was elected in March. She has already begun a campaign to change the laws around dangerous dogs. She has also fought to improve the environment in Southend West, particularly along the coastline. At their meeting, held in the House of Commons, Anna raised these issues with the Minister, and was pleased to hear that the Government remains committed to improving its animal rights and eco protections.
Commenting, Anna said:
“I was delighted to meet with the Minister to discuss a number of important issues. Throughout my election campaign, people throughout Southend West expressed their commitment to the environment and their love of animals. It is so important to me that I spend my time in Parliament improving protections for animals and making the world we live in a better place. I was very pleased to hear the Minister’s commitments during my meeting.”
