I've launched a survey to get resident's opinions on speeding in Southend West!
Anna Firth, Member of Parliament for Southend West, has launched a new survey to find out attitudes to speeding in Leigh and Westcliff. The survey, which can be found below and will be open until July, asks whether people in the local area are worried about speeding, and what measures they would like the Council to introduce to tackle the issue.
Speeding is one of the most common issues that people raise with Mrs Firth. She has already taken these concerns to the Chief Executive of Southend Council, and has been assured that new measurements for average speeds will be taken. However, assuming that the threshold for intervention is met the key issue is agreeing what measures are needed.
Commenting on her new survey, Anna said:
“Speeding is a real problem in the constituency, and one that people bring up with me not only via email but also at my regular surgeries and on the doorstep. I am not surprised by this – I live on Marine Parade and we have endless problems with people driving too fast, endangering everyone around them. This is a problem repeated throughout the town, with people being particularly concerned about New Road, Leigh Hill, Cliff Parade and Grand Parade.
“I am running a speeding survey which you can find below - this will be open until July. I would be very grateful if as many people as possible could fill this in!”
