On Wednesday 13th July, Anna Firth MP visited the new England Coast Path on the route between Tilbury and Southend-on-Sea. Anna was joined on the walk by the Mayors of Thurrock and Castle Point, Cllr James Halden and Cllr Martin Tucker.
The two new sections of the England Coast Path that have just been opened, Tilbury to Southend-on-Sea and Wallasea Island to Southend-on-Sea, stretch over 85 miles and will connect 500,000 people over the coast.
Anna said,
“Initiatives like these are what make me proud to be British, where we really maximise and make the most of what we have. The new paths are so accessible and provide walkers with spectacular views no matter the weather. I absolutely love nature and the seaside, and I am really looking forward to exploring all 85 miles of the new paths opened on my Sunday morning runs!”.
